St. Paul police are looking into why a man's body was found on the railroad tracks on the City's east side Saturday night.
Union Pacific called the police around 11 p.m. Saturday night to tell them they found a body near Payne Avenue and Phalen Boulevard.
Police aren't sure if the man fell down on the tracks, was asleep on the tracks or if he was dead before the train hit.
"We have managers inspecting various trains who were in the area prior to this local train finding someone between the rails," says Mark Davis with Union Pacific. "That's the focus of the investigation, to determine which train and that would give us approximate time he was struck."
Foul play is not suspected. The name of the man in his 30s has not been released.
