Woman Mugged on Dirt Path in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - A woman was mugged while walking on a dirt path around Beaver Lake in Maplewood Thursday morning.

According to police, the 57-year-old woman was walking on the north side of the lake around 9:30 a.m. when a man confronted her and hit her several times with a blunt object. The suspect stole some of her personal items during the assault.

The suspect is described as a male, possibly of Hispanic descent, olive complexion skin, 5’4 to 5’6 tall, dark hair, wearing brown shorts and shirt and walking with a limp.

There were no witnesses to the assault or robbery, but other people in the park told police they saw a man matching the suspect description walking away from the area around the same time.
