The body of missing pilot Andrew Lindberg has been found in the wreckage of his small plane that crashed near Mahnomen, Minnesota.
Searchers found the crashed plane in a wooded area Wednesday. County attorney and spokeswoman Jeanine Brand said Lindberg's body was found inside. Lindberg's family was at the scene of the wreckage Wednesday.
On Friday around 5 p.m., Lindberg took off from the Air Lake Airport in Lakeville. He was headed to Hallock to go hunting with his father. Lindberg's wife told FOX 9 her husband of six weeks sent her a text around 6:30 p.m. as he flew over Staples.
Lindberg did not file a flight plan. His family alerted authorities the plane was missing just before 11 p.m. Friday night.
More 400 Civil Air Patrol volunteers searched by ground and by air during the past several days.
