Loose Moose No Longer Loose in Fargo

Moose tranqulized, taken off hotel property

FARGO, N.D. - A moose on the loose in Fargo, North Dakota was found at a hotel Wednesday and has been tranquilized and taken off the property.

Fargo police and North Dakota state troopers contained the moose to a courtyard at the Mainstay Suites on the 1900 block of 44th Street S. Wednesday morning. An animal control expert was brought in to tranquilize the moose and move it off the hotel property.

Sgt. Jeff Skuza said moose typically follow the Red River, but occasionally they wander into the city. Skuza says Fargo-area authorities deal with moose incidents a couple of times a year.
