Kevin Garnett Back at the Target Center

MINNEAPOLIS - He left town, but never left their hearts. Minnesota Timberwolves fans turned out in force at Target Center Wednesday night for Kevin Garnett’s first and only appearance of the season. Garnett, who is often seen as the leader of the Celtics, leads the Celtics’s against the team he lead for 12 seasons.

Some younger fans waited for nearly two hours hoping for an autograph from KG, but he never took the floor for warm-ups. When game time arrived, the crowd gave Garnett a rousing and supportive welcome, as expected. The big ticket waved his thanks.

Wolves fan Jimmy Thieman says, “…he’s great. He’s always welcome in Minnesota”. Richard Brown agrees, “We were all glad when he left because he had the opportunity to go and win a title. I think he deserves it.”

In the end, the up and coming Wolves came up just a bit short, as the Celtics held on to win 92-90.

But for plenty of Wolves fans, like 11 year old Drew Maher, just watching KG play was souvenir enough, “because I never seen him play before. I’m just happy about that, that I’m here”
