A Brooklyn Park man was sentenced Thursday to 367 months in prison for the Jule 2008 murder of his wife in St. Louis Park.
Michael Collins Iheme, 50, was found guilty of second-degree murder last February.
On July 24, 2008, Athonia Eberchi Iheme was shot in her car, in the parking lot of the St. Louis Park assisted living facility where she worked. Iheme was leaving Shalom Home West when she was shot.
Michael and Antonia Iheme were married and estranged, and the victim had a restraining order.
After the guilty verdict, Hennepin County Mike Freeman pushed for the maximum conviction, despite the lesser conviction of second-degree murder.
"That's 367 months, 30 years," Freeman said, after the guilty verdict in February. "That's a long time and he deserves it."
Iheme must serve 2/3 of his sentence in prison and will receive 260 days credit for time already served.
