Fundarental.com Renting to Save Money, Make Money

In this economy, everyone could use some extra cash, or save some money. There's a new website to accomplish both, called Fundarental.com.

The website is not only helping customers find some sweet deals, but providing sellers some holiday spending money.

In 2006, the idea came to Tom Knudson and Jason Ploff to build a website tailored to renting stuff at low cost, including their hit item -- an inflatable jumping gym for kids.

Fundarental.com users can either post something they want to rent out or look for an item to rent. To post an item, users upload a photo and description of the product.

It’s up to the two parties to decide contract terms. Costs tay low, with no overhead for things like employees or rental space.

Karen of Vadnais Heights wanted to rent a canoe, but when she visited the site, the tables turned and she ended up renting her camper.

The extra money Karen earned afforded her family some cash to get an even bigger camper, since their other one ended up getting rented out for the entire summer. She even has customers lined up for next year.
