The friend of the Minneapolis teenager who was found dying in Minneapolis on Saturday was charged on Tuesday.
Friends and family identified the victim as 18-year-old Tim Jackson. Jackson. He was found dying on the street near 28th Street East and Hiawatha Avenue South around 1:40 on Saturday morning.
Andre Whirlwindhorse, 17, was charged with attempted aggravated robbery in the first degree and one count of simple robbery.
According to the police complaint, Whirlwindhorse and Jackson mugged a victim on the Greenway path, near 28th Street East and Hiawatha Avenue.
Fearing for his life, the victim took out a knife and stabbed Jackson.
Jackson was transported to the hospital where he eventually died.
“Tim was a wonderful person,” said Jackson’s friend, Stacie Moonie. “He deserved better than this. He shouldn’t have died alone.”
