ST. PAUL, Minn. - A Fridley man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for distributing more than 600 images of child pornography. Matthew Eric Linngren, 37, received the sentence in a St. Paul federal court Tuesday after previously reaching a plea agreement.

Lingrenn admitted in the plea to sending the pictures of minors in sexually explicit poses to an internet Yahoo group in October of 2005.

’Through the Minnesota Cyber Crimes Task Force, the FBI and U.S. Secret Service continue to investigate these types of predators as they utilize new technology to avoid detection,’ said Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Minneapolis Office.

Linngren’s case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Richard Newberry and Michelle E. Jones.
