MINNEAPOLIS - The actors take the stage at Anishinabe Academy in Minneapolis and portray situations that are all to real for school kids in Minnesota. A gay character named "Boyd" makes the cheerleading squad and becomes the victim of harrassment and bullying--slurs are hurled at him, another student starts a "Cheer Queer" Facebook page slamming him, while others break into his locker and cut his cheer uniform to shreds.

M.A. Rosko tells us, CLIMB Theatre has been doing proven-effective bullying prevention plays in schools throughout the Upper Midwest for 35 years. Funding comes from the Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB). According to Jeannine Ouellette, many Title 1 schools wouldn't be able to afford this type of programming without the funding.
