WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (FOX 9) -- Departments heads at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will have shaven heads when they take part in the 2009 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics over the weekend.
They said they would shave their heads if employees raised enough money for their plunge. All of the donations benefit Special Olympics Minnesota.
“Somebody once told me the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is a week,” BCA Superintendent Tim O’Malley said. “So a week from now it'll be fine.”
The BCA employees exceeded their fundraising goal of $1,500, raising almost $2,400.
“It’s a way for us to get involved in the community a little bit and help out,” O’Malley said.
Saturday, O’Malley will take the plunge along with hundreds of others at several locations across the Twin Cities metro.
