FRIDLEY, Minn. - Fridley Police and Fire crews evacuated dozens of customers from a hotel complex on Centrral Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday.

They were called in to Livinn Suites due to a report of smoke in a hallway of the building. All occupants were evacuated safely.

Investigators determined a minor mattress fire from an occupant smoking in bed was the cause. The man smoking in bed was tested for intoxication and arrested for causing a negligent fire. He was booked in Anoka County Jail on a Gross Misdemeanor.
