Many have learned about propofol for the first time after Michael Jackson's death. But experts say addiction to the drug is growing, specifically among one group of people: health care professionals, who have easy access.
Keith Larson is the president-elect of the Minnesota Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Larson uses propofol to sedate patients before surgery. It can also stop your breathing, that's why during procedures every vital sign is monitored.
But unlike other narcotics in the hospital, propofol is not under lock and key.
