H1N1 Clinics Held in Mpls Metro

Published : Wednesday, 18 Nov 2009, 8:03 AM CST

Many of you have been waiting to get your kids an H1N1 flu shot. The good news is: more vaccine is rolling in to the state. The bad news is: you're going to have to wait in line.

Hennepin County is only telling us that supply is limited -- but this isn't the only location in the county or the metro over the next few days.

Nearly all of the H1N1 vaccine clinics are for children, and that's the case here in Hopkins today.

They'll only be distributing the shot or the nasal spray to kids between the ages of six months and nine-years-old.

In addition to today's dose, these same children will need to get a second vaccine in about four weeks to make sure they can fight off the virus.

Before you come and stand in line here at Hopkins high school today the county says you need to call your doctor's office first to see if your kids can get a shot there.

Second, a parent or guardian must be with them to sign a consent form. You can get one from the county's website or pick one up here. And finally, the shots won't cost you any money, but bring your insurance card so the county can bill them for you.

Today's H1N1 vaccine clinic here at Hopkins high school goes from 3:15 p.m. To 8:30 p.m.

There's another on Friday at New Hope Church. We'll let you know where additional H1N1 clinics are through the rest of the week.
