    The NFL has increased the punishment for cases of domestic violence and sexual assault to 6 games for a first offense and a minimum one-year ban for a second offense. The change in policy was announced in a letter to NFL owners on Thursday in which Commissioner Roger Goodell apologized for his weak punishment of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.
